Miðvikudaginn 23. september, klukkan 17 í stofu 101 í Odda mun dr. Frank Soltis halda fyrirlestur sem nefnist Computer architecture, past present and future.
Fyrirlesturinn er á ensku.

——
Dr. Frank Soltis, who recently retired from his chief scientist job at
IBM, is widely regarded at the father of the AS/400 computer system. He is
the creator of the technology-independent architecture that led to a
totally new breed of business computers, including the AS/400 and the
IBM i.

He also led the effort within IBM to define the architecture of the 64-bit
Power processors and was instrumental in moving IBM to the converged
Power Systems. The architecture that he and his team created is today used in
POWER4, POWER5, POWER6 and soon POWER7 processors.
